Willie’s passion for the outdoors started when he was a youngster, and has continued to grow. Growing up in the great state of Illinois, Willie loves to chase the mature deer that made it famous. When Willie was in high school he began making turkey and deer calls for hunters across the country. Partaking in this art form allowed him to meet, visit and learn from many great outdoorsmen - something he is very thankful for. The great outdoors is a year around obsession for Willie whether is be bowhunting, shed hunting, turkey hunting, or fishing. Since founding Outdoor Freaks in June 2008, Willie keeps busy by continuously keeping the site updated, making custom calls when time allows and attending Monmouth College on a full-time basis.

I grew up hunting along the Texas gulf coast where we lived.  When my dad took me
teal hunting when I was about 12, I was hooked.  From then on, I knew it’d be
something I'd do for the rest of my life.

In 1986, I was paralyzed in a diving accident, and the thought of hunting again was
the one thing that kept me going during my time in the rehab.

Steve Conover has won six World National Wild Turkey Still-Target Championships, breaking world records five times. A master turkey caller - with the trophy toms to prove it - and an accomplished bow hunter and rifle shooter, Steve guides others on a nonprofessional basis. Steve is a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and is affiliated professionally with several nationally known companies in the hunting and shooting industry. Steve travels all around the country in his spare time competing in shooting events, living his love for the outdoors, and sharing his knowledge and expertise with others hunters and shooters.

John Mueller started hunting as a boy on his family's property, starting with a gun and eventually moving to a bow. His dream of having some land of his own was sadly delayed by the illness and passing of his wife. With her blessing, he's now found a place and is in the process of transforming it into a deer hunting paradise in western Illinois. John also enjoys faraway hunting and fishing trips for antelope, bear, elk, salmon and halibut.
